The Zoo

Last Wednesday Daddy took a half day at work and we took the kids to the Zoo. It was a lot of fun. Carter was pretty excited becuase he like to see the animals. Alexis was excited because Carter was excited and Jordyn was just along for the ride but she had fun. Last year we took the kids but Alexis was too young like Jordyn to really know what was going on, but this year she loved it. She thought it was so cool to see the animals. They got to be really close to the turkeys. Alexis wanted to go get them.

They also got to see the white Alligator. At first when we were looking at him he just sat there with him eys open. So we were statring to think he was fake. He didn't move or blink his eyes. But finally as we were walking away he moved so we went back to see him.

Alexis was more excited about these little guys than the big white one. She kept saying "WOW WOW!" And I had to drang her away because she wouldn't leave when we were leaving.

We stopped and watched the elephant show. The kids weren't that interested in all the talking at the beginning but they really like watching them get a bath. They thought that was pretty cool and funny. We couldn't get Carter to leave he liked it so much.

Alexis was getting really grumpy and wouldn't pose for any picture right before lunch. But after lunch she was happy. One because she got to eat and two because we went and saw the monkeys. I think those were her favorite. She spent a lot of time just sitting and watching then through the windows.

He can do it!

After many tearful and frustrating attempts of teaching Carter to ride his bike. He has finally got it. We are so excited for him. It was hard to teach him when we had so little time to work with him. But we have had him with us for the last two weeks and have been able to work with him a little each day and now he is a pro. We new he would enjoy at once he learned, and now that is all he wants to do. He has even started to do "trick" He can ride standing up. We are so excited for him and that he was able to conquer the fear he had of riding his bike.

Here Birdie Birdie

Our new family favorite activity right now is feeding the ducks. The kids love it. We have gone twice in the last week. After having all those family BBQ's we ended up with a lot of hamburger and hot dog buns. So what better to do with them all than feed the ducks.

The kids got so excited when I told them we were going to go again. It fun to listen how Alexis gets. She couldn't wait. Carter likes to make trails to try to get tham close to him. And he likes to chase the seaguls away. Alexis tries to get as close to the water as possible without falling in. She loves when the ducks come right up to her, she has no fear at this point in her life. And Jordyn, well lets say the ducks don't stay around her for long. She feeds herself instead of the ducks. It was a fun evening with the family. We all had a good time.

This is why we have kids, right?

The other day Carter in the neighbor boy (nathan) wanted to wash Rutsy work van for $5 each. I thought it was great that they wanted to earn some money, but Iwasn't willing to pay $10 for a car wash I knew I was going to have to manage and most likely finish. But I did offer them some money and they happily cleaned the van. And then they offered to clean the car as well. I think they just wanted to play with the water and sprayer some more. Yes there are three people in the picture. Jessi came over and helped the boys as well.

Pony Girl

This is Alexis riding the rocking horse that her daddy use to ride when he was a little kid. Rusty's mom bounces the kids on her legs and sings "Pony Girl, Pony Girl won't you be my pony girl. Don't say no, here we go off across the field. Gitty up, gitty up, gitty up, whoooooo. Pony girl." And so now when Alexis goeds out to ride the rocking horse I can hear her out there singing that song. It is so cute. And she does the same thing when she plays with her My Little Pony and when ever she sees a horse. It is so fun watching them learn new things.

Father's Day Feasting

This was the weekend of BBQ's. Friday there was a surprise party for Rusty's uncle Steve. He turned 50. This was Rusty's first trip anywhere with all three kids by himself. I had previous plans so I could not go. He was a bit nervous and wasn't sure how he was going to do it, but I reasured him he would be okay and I 'm sure there would be other people there that would be more than happy to take Jordyn off his hands so he went. They had a good time. Alexis probably had the most fun because she got to play with her second cousin Kenidee and her bag of make-up, and we all know how Alexis loves her make-up. I was told be a few people, none of them being my husband that she looked beautiful. Lipstick everywhere eyeshadow, the works. Unfortunately it was not still on when she got home. And there weren't any pictures taken. So I will never know how good it looked. I guess that is what I get for not going.

Saturday we had a BBQ to celebrate Father's Day for Pa at Rusty's uncle Ricks and Sunday we had a BBQ at our house to celebrate Father's Day for Grandpa Forrest and all the other Dad's that were there. We had some awesome ribs on Sunday and with all these BBQ's we ended up with 4 bags of hamburger buns and 2 bags of hot dog buns and I have no idea what I am going to do with them all. I guess I will have to take the kids to feed some ducks somewhere. These are a few shots of the kids at Sunday's bbq.

She did it!

This weekend Jordyn finally crawled. Friday to be exact. She would only do short trips of two or three "steps" or what ever they are called. It was a very exciting day. And then the following day she went a little further. She is getting so big. I love that little sweetie pie. She is now also at that fabulous age where they like to try and I really mean try to feed themselves. I really think more of the food end up on the outside than the inside. But look at that sweet face. It is cute whether it is dirty or clean. I love her big blue eyes!

I'm back

Yes I know it has been a little while since I last wrote. This darn computer kills me. The other day I had written a whole posting and was near completion when BAM the whole thing freezes and shuts done all my programs. Needless to say the posting did not save and I did not want to retype it. And then this weekend has just been a crazy one with Father's Day and all. So I am back and trying to work through the issues of my computer to continue on with my blog.

Boating

This weekend Alexis and Cater got to go boating for the first time. They went with Daddy while I stayed at home with Jordyn. They both had a really good time. Alexis never got out of the boat, she liked it so much. Everytime she sees her life jacket she remembers the boat and wants to go ride again. As for Carter, he attempted to ride on the tube, but when they didn't have enough speed to take off the tube sunk and that really scared Carter, so he was done trying that. He did have fun just playing in the water. Both kids took naps while out on the boating becasue being out on that water can really wear you out. And that put Rusty out of commission as well for nap time since he was the bed and shelter apparently. This is the picture I saw on the camera of the sleeping arrangements. I asked Rusty why Carter was sleeping there and he didn't know. He said Carter was looking for something and then just fell asleep there.

Make-up Mommy!

So that story about Alexis. (I'm warning you now I am sure there will be many many stories about her. She is very active and naughty, but very cute.) Any to bive you a little background she is very much a girl and loves make-up. Everytime I am putting on my make-up there she is begging for some as well. So yesterday we were eating lunch and she finished and went up stairs, meanwhile I stayed in the kitchen feeding the little ones ( Jordyn, my 7 month old and Wesley the little boy I babysit, who is almost 9 months). Anyway, She had been up there for a little while and didn't come down and it was awfully quiet and that is never good when a toddler it quiet. So I went upstairs to find her. Naturally the first place I check is the bathroom, that is usually were she goes if she is being naughty or getting in something she shouldn't be in, but she was not there. Then I check my room, the masterbathroom, and Carter's room, no Alexis. So the last place I check is her room, why would she actually be playing in her room? Was she so tired she had put herself to sleep? (wishful thinking) Of course not she is sitting on her bed putting on my make-up. She sees me looks up and smiles and says "make-up mommy." And boy was she doing a great job. She had eye shadow all over her face. It was beautifully.

Just last week she was digging in my purse while we were at Lowes shopping for all the stuff we needed for the new bathroom downstair, and naturally she was bored, so she found a brand new tube of lipstick twisted it all the way to the top put some on her face and then put the lid on with out twisting it back down. So now the entire tube of lipstick is now in the lid, yah that can be used. She loves her make-up.

This computer

So yesterday I started my blog. And I had a great little story I wanted to tell about Alexis (my 2 year old) and well Rusty (my husband) got on the computer and messed it up so it shut down and would not turn back on. That happened the last time he tried to get on google earth and I warned him, but he chose not to listen. There is a guy that he works with that tells him different things he can look up on googleearth and Rusty tries to come hopme and check them out, but can't because our google earth is tainted. Also it likes to freeze and the screen blinks on and off all the time while anyone is trying to do anything on the computer. Yah that gets annoying, but what can you do about it. I don;t really know much about computer and I really don't have the funds to pay a professional at this time, oh well. So we will see how regular I am at blogging with my fabulous computer.

It all starts now

It's official. I am now a blogger. I have been thinking of starting a blog for a long time and today was the day. Thanks to my sister Kristen. No our mom did not name us the same name. She is actually my sister-in-law, but I just call her my sister because I never had one til she came around.
Anyway, I am really excited to have this record of our family. My kids are so fun and entertaining. I am excited for my kids, that they can go back and read these stories about their life when they get older.
