House 6-14-2010 thru 6-17-2010

Yes I have gotten a little behind on the house updates. Sometimes there are days I just can't get on the computer. I have a lot of projects in the works right and a few extra kids I am watching these days due to school being out for the summer.

Monday the lot pins got put in, they set up the forms for the footing, poured the footings and took the forms off the footings.

Tuesday they set up the forms for the foundation walls and poured the concrete for the walls. It is so fun to see so much happening so fast.
Jordyn was trying to climb the wall to see what Rusty was looking at.

Rusty and the girls looking at the garage.

The house with the forms up while the concrete dried.

This is a picture standing in the front corner of the house where our living room will be.

Wednesday they took the forms off the house. It is so exciting we can now see the actual layout of the house. Rusty keeps looking at and is worried that it is small and everything isn't going to fit in the space. He had a tape measure with him measuring everything making sure it was right comparing it to the plans.

Thursday the plumbers came and roughed in the drains and underground piping.

Still not mobile

Taylor is the slowest of all my kids to crawl. Jordyn was walking at this age and Alexis was crawling with some persuasion. I would make a trail of treats on the floor to motivate Alexis to move and she finally did after some work. Jordyn didn't need any help she just took off one day and the next thing you knew she was walking.
Everyone keeps telling me maybe she won't crawl and she will go straight to walking, but the problem with that is she can not balance at all on her own. She love to stand holding on to things, but just doesn't move. She has about a month and a half before we really have to worry. Tay is getting ever so close each day. Earlier this week she started sitting on her hands and knees and rocking. And today she tried moving her hands but forgets to move her legs so she then flops on her belly.
She has recently figured out how to pivot around in a circle while laying on her belly.

Today we took a step forward then a step back. The concrete guys came today to start laying out their forms so they could pour our footing tomorrow, but they ran into a little problem. There are suppose to be markers all around the property showing were the property lines are but there are no markers in the back of the lot. It took most of the day to figure out who should put those in and who was going to pay for the person to come do it. Originally it had been done, but it was moved or buried when the concrete wall was built along the back of the lot. They had tried to start laying out the forms, but could not find the point the measure from so they had to stop. Around lunch the partially started forms were there and no one was working and later around 6 when Rusty came home all the forms were gone. So now we have to wait til Monday for the engineer to come lay out new pin markers and so then we will not be able to get our footings poured til Tuesday.

This is what I saw when I went by the house around noon, but later when we went by around 8 the hole was empty again.

Lagoon

We were a little dissappointed when we got the letter in the mail telling us the Wasatch summer party was at the zoo because that ment we probably would not get to go to Lagoon this year. But we were really lucky last week when one of Rusty's friends told him he had some discount tickets for Lagoon. So we got to go afterall. We started off the day by going on the bigger rides that Alexis and Jordyn could go on, which included Draculas Castle (bad idea), tilt a whirl (the girls did not like), music express (Alexis thought that was fun, but Jordyn did not like it), Tital wave (the girls hated that), and then we went on to the pioneer village rides (Jordyn cried again on the log ride), her and I were in front and got pretty wet. Needless to say Jordyn was not having a good time and wanted to go home. After all that we got some lunch and then Rusty and Carter went and rode the big rides and I took the girls to Kiddie Land. Once we went on rides that were more her size she finally started to have a good time. After a few hours we got back together with the boys and let the kids play in the water at the entrance of the park. They played here for about an hour and had a great time. Alexis and Carter got soaked and Jordyn did everything she could to stay dry, surprisingly. But she did a really good job of not getting wet. The picture above it her running back to the edge before the water started going again.

Taylor's first trip to the zoo.

Carter, Alexis and Jordyn all got their faces painted.

Saturday June 5th we went to the zoo for Rusty's company summer party. It was pretty fun. We got to go after hours so it was nice because it was from 5-9 and it wasn't very hot. We had a catered dinner and they had free face painting and unlimited rides on the merry-go-round and train. The kids had a lot of fun.

Our hole. :)

This morning around 11:45 I was on a walk with the kids and we heard a tractor working as we came around the corner and were surprised to see that they were already digging the foundation. Brandon told us that they weren't going to dig until Wednesday. So that was exciting. Later this evening we went back to the lot to look at the hole with Rusty. The kids had fun playing in the hole.
We are scheduled to have our footings poured on Friday if the weather permits.

House 6-7-2010

This is Rusty walking around getting a feel of the size of the house. The house perimeter was all spray painted on the ground.

Today we met with the builder, Brandon, to figure out the orientation of the house. Then we left and went to Lagoon for the day. When we came home later that day we were pleasantly surprised to see that not only had he staked out the house, but they had already started a little digging.

House 6-3-2010

It's official! We can now finally start on our house. I am so excited. Today we went to the title company and signed all the papers for our construction loan and it is being recorded to title. I called my builder and we are scheduled to meet with him Monday morning to set the post for the house so they can start to dig. Hooray!

House 6-2-2010

Now we have taken a step back in the house building process. The back hoe that has been sitting on our lot for almost two weeks disappeared yesterday. So now we are right back where we started. And apparently we are still waiting for one of the bank executives to sign on our loan so we can close. I wasn't frustrated before, but now I am starting to get there.
