House 10-13-2010

The railings were put in and stained today.

Oh yes and the finish carpenters put real stairs in, so now we can walk up them with ease and I don't have to carry the girls up and down anymore. I love the finish carpenters for all the beautiful work they are doing.
We were pleasantly surprised to see the detail they were putting into the window seals. That little extra piece of molding looks really nice.

The finish Carpentry begins.
I was super excited when I found out they were building my bench for me and I didn't have to do it. This is my favorite part of my laundry room.

They trimmed out the cubbies.

One of the closet organizers.

And the doors and moldings are going in.

The stairs also got all done up. Everything all looks so good.

They put the color coat on the stucco today. It is so exciting to see all the finishes going on the house.

I was really nervous about choosing the colors for the stucco. We worried it wouldn't look good, but I think it turned out pretty good.

The weekend of tiling. It was a really long week with a lot of late nights, but we got the floors all done by our deadline.

House 9-24-2010

Getting ready for the stucco.

The stucco starts to go up.

Rusty was a little concerned when they started putting up the stucco because I guess it looked kind of green. But then it dried grey and that wasn't the color we picked either. but that was just the scratch coat.

This is a really fun step, now we really get to see the shape of the interior of the house ant the true room sizes.

One last trip for the Summer

We went camping with my brother and sister-in-law and their kids on 9-11 and 9-12. We had a little hiccup trying to get there when the truck we were driving out there died, The transmission went out. I was great. We had to sit on the side of the road for a while til we could get a hold of my brother to come get us. And then Rusty waited longer on the side of the road listening to the BYU game while he waited for my other brother (thanks Eric) to bring our car and a trailer to pick up the broken truck. But once we got there and got the car situation taken care of all was good.
The boys spent most of their time up on the mountain. They weren't down in camp much.

Alexis and Jordyn roasted their own marshmallows for the first time. Jordyn wasn't a real fan, but Alexis was roast mallows for anyone she could.

Uncle Eric came to the rescue and then hung out for a little bit.

Jordyn stole Taylor's binky and was trying to make a break for it on the four wheeler.

First they put up the tar paper, then the brick arrived, and finally they put it up.

I was really nervous about the color and hoped it looked as good as the 1 foot by 1 foot sample I had to choose from. And now we have brick! It is so exciting to see the finishes start to go on.
