Happy Easter

Here is a pic of the kids on their Easter outfits. They wore them this week and did an Easter egg hunt with Rusty's side of the family this past Sunday due to conference and us having Carter.

The move is on

This week is the big week. It has all came up so fast. We are scheduled to move on Thursday in hopes that we will have it all done so we can go camping Friday, Saturday and Sunday for Easter weekend. And we are scheduled to sign and close on our house that following Monday. I feel like all I do it pack. I really didn't think it would take this many boxes for us to move. I obviously have way more stuff than I thought. This is a bitter sweet time in our lives. We will be sad to leave the place we have called home for the last five years as a family and more for Rusty. He was living here when we met, while we dated and during our engagement. We have had many hours of fun and project in this home as well. We acquired a hot tub, built a huge deck, finished the basement built a playground gutted the kitchen and made it into the best kitchen ever and painted every room in the house at least once. Rusty learned to tile and has become very good at it. We have had three beautiful little girls and brought them home here. They have learned to walk and talk and celebrated birthdays. Learned to ride their bikes and climb trees here as well. It will be sad to say good bye to this house, but we are just out growing it too fast.
It is going to be bitter sweet we have made friends here as well of course. I think it will be harder for Rusty than I because he not only lived here as an adult, but her grew up in this house from the age of 10 to 19. I know his brother and younger sister are also sad to see us sell the house, but it wasn't going to stay in the family forever.
I have to say I am very excited to have storage space, that is one thing we had none of here and I am excited to landscape with a clean slate. That is the one thing Rusty is the most worried about doing, but I think it will be fun. We will be moving farther away from Rusty's family, but we will be moving closer to my family and to Rusty's Nana and Grandpa Forest, and they are very excited to have us near.
I am sure the next few months will be tough and take some adjusting while we live in limbo and try not to drive grandma and grandpa Nielsen crazy, but I think it will be fun and give my kids a chance to create a bond with them at the same time.
I just hope I can make it through this week and get everything ready for the move and then I will just have to take the next little while one step at a time.

New Look

I love the feeling of spring in the air. And I was looking at my blog and thought I would like to spring it up a little. I was thinking something bright like orange and bright pink, but then I a saw this one and really liked it as well. I know you all might be shocked, but I figured out how to do it all by my self. Thank goodness the web site had step by step instructions on what to do. It is kind of fun to have a new look. I have had the same design since I started my blog.

Disney on Ice

So, a few weeks ago I got a call from my sister-in-law asking if I wanted to take my girls to Disney on Ice. I thought that would be fun to take Jordyn and Alexis and Rusty could stay home with Taylor. Well later I find out it is a Carter weekend. But figured he would be fine hanging out with dad and not want to see princess skating around. Well then Rusty found out he would be working 7 10 hour shifts for 3-4 weeks in March. Great. So I found a place for Carter to go. (Thanks Kristen) and figured I could handle taking Taylor with me. It would be okay there were going to be 5 adults to 7 children everything would be great.
So I told Alexis about the ice show and she wanted to ride the train, because she got to ride the train a few months ago with daddy to the Jazz Game so I thought, "sure that will be fun , let's do it." So last night I had it all figured out. I would take Carter to Kristen's and then just drive straight East to the traxx station in Midvale and we would have a nice ride downtown and be dropped off right in front of the arena. Oh, and all this time I am planning on the show starting @ 12:30 because that is the time I have been told because My mother-in-law was the one the tickets were mailed to. Well needless to say things did not go as planned. I get a call at 10:15 from my mother-in-law telling me there was a problem. She was 2 tickets short and the show starts in 45 minutes. BIG PROBLEM So I tell Lex the new dilemma. She has to make a decission, one, ride the train and be late and possibly miss Tinkerbell or Ariel, or two we drive up there in the car and get to see the whole show. Well she picked one, she really wanted to ride the train. So i pack the kids while I wait for my Sue to bring me my tickets and bring Carter home because he had slept at her house, thank goodness she took him to Kristen's for me or we would have really been late and probably missed the whole show.
Well we made it to the station and got to the arena the girls loved the train ride and really had a good time at the ice show. We only missed the first segment which was cars, and they really are into that so it worked out wonderfully. Jordyn was glued and Alexis would clap for everything and thought it was so neat. Especially when Queen Clarion came flying in up in the sky. It is so fun to watch kids at this age experience new things. I got a few shots of the girls at the show. I wish I could have had a picture or 2 of the train ride but my hands were a little full. We will definitely had to ride the train again. (Oh and a special thanks to Sheay for giving me her old Snugli. It was a life saver for today's trip.)

This is the hat that came with the $10 cotton candy they decided to buy. They had to put both there money together to buy it, but they enjoyed it and have shared very well, surprisingly.

Packing, packing and more packing

So things are still going along with our house being under contract. So i though ti should get serious about packing things up. My goal is to pack at least 5 boxes a day. Today I made a small dent in the garage while the kids were riding bikes and playing in the front yard. It was such a nice day today, don't you hate those spring teasers and then watch the news for them to tell you it is going to snow in a few days. Sad. It didn't seem like I was making any progress because everything still looked the same, so the other day I look down pictures and wall decor from the kids room, now the house it starting to look a little bare.
I have to say I am a little nervous a bout the change, but I am way more excited. This will be a fun new stage in our lives. Rusty is totally freaking out about the whole thing, ask Kristen she has seen him. Lucky for him he is working all month and I mean all month. He just started a job working 7 10 hour shifts so he doesn't even have to do all the packing. One day he will just come home to an empty house. Not really, I planned our move out date for April 1st the day after his 7 10's end. Fun day off, right? If anyone is free that evening they are more than welcome to come lend a hand. And then in nine months we will get to do it all over again, but we will accompany that move with a big party, I just decided that, right now. It will be fun.
It's late and I am talking a little crazy now. so I better go. Love you all! Ta ta

The inspection

Yesterday the new buyers had there inspection done on the house. It took forever. The inspector came at 2 and he and the buyers didn't leave until 6:30. The inspector didn't really find much for us to have to do and Rusty got to meet and visit with the new buyers for a little bit. But we haven't received the official report yet so we will see what that says. But it looks like this deal really might go through, so i guess I should really start packing stuff now.
But on the other hand we have run into a little issue with the lot we are suppose to be buying. The title guy I talked to today is showing that our lot is split into 2 pieces and those 2 pieces added up are smaller than what the plat map shows that we were going off of when we put in our bid. I am not very impressed with the people we are buying from. They seem pretty shady. I already found out earlier this week that they sold another lot in the development for less than what they were telling me they sold it for. I don't like it when people lie to me.

Dejunking

I think Rusty is really liking this idea of us moving, because he is getting me to throw a lot of stuff away or send it off to the D.I. But then he also keeps saying, "where are we going to put all this?" "We have so much stuff." I don't feel like we have that much stuff when I look in my house, but then I think about moving and packing the garage and shed and I find myself wondering "what are we going to do with everything?" It was funny watching him this evening when he was helping me clean out a kitchen cupboard and put some boxes in the garage and he realized how many boxes of cereal I had stocked up. "When are we ever going to eat all that?", he asked. he would be surprised how fast we go through cereal. And I know he likes being able to just go out to the garage and grab a new box when one is emptied.
My goal this month is to not go grocery shopping and just live off what I already have in the house and freezer. I will probably have to make 2 trips for bread and milk, and maybe a little fruit, but i thin kit is totally possible. I will have to report at the end of the month and let you know how it goes. We have already done it for one week I'm sure 4 more shouldn't be too hard. And when it comes time to actually more everyone helping us will be glad I did it.
