Major catch up- May

So for any of you that might still look at my blog after no entry's for 2 months, I thought I would do a bit of catchup for you. Life has been busy and the last two months have seriously flown by. I can't believe it is almost July.

May 6 was Alexis' 3rd Birthday. And I was a terrible mom to not write something special about her on her birthday. But we did have a Birthday party for her with the Family. All her cousins were there and almost all her Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents and Great Grandparents were there too. Alexis helped me make her cake which she had a great time doing. and for her party she picked to have a flower pinata. We all had a good time.

The Monday before Memorial weekend I started potty training Alexis. I had tried one other time before this about six months earlier and she was not ready. Up until the day we tried again she was totally happy wearing diapers and had no real desire to be a big girl. But after having a diaper countdown and her knowing diapers were not an option anymore she did pretty good. I am so happy to have one less child in diaper. But of course we have another on the way to now be in diapers again. It would be awesome if Jordyn would potty train before the baby is born, but I highly doubt that will happen.

Four days before we were planning to go camping for the Memorial weekend our basement flooded and that was an awful thing to deal with. I went walking in the basement to rotate laundry and I hear rushing water coming in thru all three windows on the side on the house. One of the window wells was more than halfway filled with water. It looked like a fish tank minus the fish. I don't think the following activity would have been approved by my doctor considering your not suppose to lift heavy things while pregnant. So I went outside climbed down in the window well that almost goes up to my shoulder and am filling bucket of water and throwing them out of the window well.
Needless to say my basement was a disaster area and I had company coming to stay in my home, in the basement in a month. We ended up having to practically gut the end bedroom and we had to throw out the carpet pad in the TV room and replace the baseboards in the TV room. I was lucky and everything got finished in time. They laid the new carpet 2 days before our company came.

Memorial Day weekend we went camping and attempted boating with some friends and Kara and Jake. It rained pretty much the entire weekend. We did get about a three hours block of sunshine from about 11 to 2 on Sunday afternoon that we were able to let the kids play on the beach and get in the boats without freezing. Despite the weather we still had a really good time.

On Memorial Day we always get together with my Mom's side of the family. We have a pot luck lunch, go to the cemetery to visit my Grandpa and Great grandparents graves and then we go to wherever is decided for some friendly sporting activities, like Softball (more in the past than now), volleyball, and soccer. This year we went to my aunts house and played volleyball, which was nice because I could even play that being 7 months pregnant.
The girls had a good time playing in the tire swing, running around with the other kids and getting to hold my cousin Austin's chickens.
And for those of you that were wondering, yes Rusty was there too. He played volleyball with me.

And for any of the family reading this there is a sweet pic of Aunt Janet in the tire swing that Andrea got with my Camera. Thanks Andrea.
